Welcome!
Hi, I’m Lillian
I’m a stay-at-home mom of four amazing children. We explore, learn, laugh and love. (It gets loud and often times messy.)
My journey toward this simplified lifestyle has been shaped over many years by raising children and the desire to create a haven where Jesus is the cornerstone. Here, I share the insights and practical tools I’ve gathered along the way.
Here you’ll find a range of topics, including homemaking skills, the rewards of homesteading, the joy of creating nourishing meals, the satisfaction of hands-on DIY projects, and the peace that comes from an organized environment. My aim is to offer content that is both informative and accessible, regardless of where you are on your own journey.
When I’m not blogging, I am managing my home and enjoying my children. I battle two disorders that take a lot out of me. So, often times I have to rest and take my time to make sure I am taking care of myself. When I do have extra energy, you can be sure I will spend it outside in the sunshine; it truly is a God-given medicine.
I invite you to join me in exploring the beauty of a life lived with intention. Let’s learn, grow, and build a community rooted in faith and simplicity.

I enjoy very basic healthy food. A plate of fresh veggies, a lean protein and some quinoa and I am a happy lady. Though, I can’t hide it, I do enjoy chocolate sometimes.
How It All Began
Growing up in the suburbs and city, I was probably the least likely person anyone would have pegged for a homesteading lifestyle. Yet, I always found myself drawn to my family’s home in the country, often visiting for months at a time as a teenager. During those visits, my “city girl” tendencies were clear – I knew little about splitting or stacking wood, gardening, or other rural skills. However, help was always expected, whether I stayed for a weekend or six months. It was there that I was encouraged to learn and step outside my comfort zone. And it was there, for the first time, that I felt a true sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
It was during one of those visits that I was sitting on their porch early in the morning overlooking the beauty of one of their fields that a yearning grew in my heart. I decided in that moment that that was the place I wanted to be. Even as a teenager I recognized that that city life was missing something profound., something that couldn’t be found in a shopping mall, or in the company of many friends. The desire was so strong, I didn’t even want to return home, despite knowing I had to. I wanted a simple life away from negativity, away from the buildings, and crowed places.
Over the years that followed, I embarked on my homesteading journey while living in the city on a .5-acre plot. Ideas quickly outgrew that small rented space, and zoning laws prohibited animals of any kind. So, I moved to a rural two-acre property. Though it wasn’t as grand as my heart desired, I could finally pursue everything I wanted. I had chickens, ducks, rabbits, and goats, along with two very substantial gardens and plenty of extra space for more. Once again, my dreams outgrew the space, leading to another move, this time to a significantly larger property with two barns. And thus continued my homesteading journey, growing with each step. Sugaring, hunting, gardening, more animals, building projects, homemade products, homemade goods, and living off the land as much as possible became integral to my life. It grew into a passion that I hold near and dear to my heart, and I hope to offer you insight and a passion to cultivate something deeply meaningful and uniquely your own in your home.
So, I hope you will join me as we explore, learn, laugh and love!
