If you’re searching for the best all-purpose cleaner to streamline your chores, look no further. This has become my number one choice for its incredible versatility and effectiveness across a multitude of surfaces. From effortlessly wiping down kitchen counters and achieving a streak-free shine on windows to tackling tough bathroom grime and gently cleaning delicate toys, it truly delivers. I especially love how it revitalizes my stainless steel appliances and leaves my stovetop spotless. It’s even gentle enough for my phone screen and effective on floors and furniture – making it a cleaning essential you’ll wonder how you lived without.
More often than not, we buy cleaners for every type of surface, or buy them for the room they are intended for. Sometimes, the most effective cleaner ingredients can be found right in your medicine cabinet. This is where Isopropyl alcohol comes in. This surprising chemical can be used to disinfect and clean a variety of surfaces. Let me tell you, it works!
What is Isopropyl alcohol?
Isopropyl alcohol is known as a denaturant. This means that it can disturb the proteins and cell membranes of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Because of this, it is an amazing disinfectant. The alcohol kills the microorganism leaving you with a clean and germ-free surface. It also dries very quickly leaving a streak-free shine.
What Can The Best All-Purpose Cleaner Be Used On?
This All-Purpose Cleaner can be used on a variety of surfaces. Some common surfaces include:
- Stainless steel: This cleaner gets my stainless-steel appliances shining without the use of a specialized cleaner. With four kids, my fridge has fingerprints, handprints, at times food smears and smudges. This cleaner gets your appliances gleaming!
- Windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces: This is my favorite use. It leaves my glass table streak free. This is due to its rapid evaporation time. My mirrors have never looked so clean. My coffee table is also fingerprint free.
- Kitchen Surfaces: You can clean and disinfect countertops, cutting boards, and use it to clean your stovetop.
- Electronics: Isopropyl alcohol cleaner can be used to clean your laptop or display screen, keyboards, game screens, and phones. (Always power down your device before cleaning and spray a paper towel. NEVER spray your electronic directly. Wipe clean with as little as possible, and dry completely before powering back on.)
- Bathroom Surfaces: You can use this to clean the inside and outside of the toilet. It is suitable for counter tops, in the shower or bath, and the mirrors. It’s also highly effective on soap scum.
- Freshen Fabrics: Use to remove odor from fabrics and freshen your bedding. (Always test a small area first!)
- Adhesive Remover: This cleaner can be used to remove that sticky residue left behind by labels and stickers.
- Childrens Items: This is a great cleaner for removing dirt off of toys, walkers, highchairs and more. For another powerful cleaner check this post on a Powerful Disinfecting Cleaner.
Don’t Use This Cleaner On these things:
- Certain Plastics: Using isoproply can etch plastic creating a cloudy appearance. (Always test a small area before you clean items you are not sure of.)
- Unsealed Stone: Using certain cleaners on unsealed stone can damage it. It is best to avoid cleaners and opt to use a mild soap and water.
- Wood Surfaces: A few times wouldn’t hurt the wood surface. However, prolonged use will dry out the wood and damage the finish. It is best to use proper wood cleaners and polishes. I stay away from anything wood!
Safety with Alcohol Cleaner
Skin: Using this everyday can cause dry skin. Use a lotion or wear gloves.
Highly Flammable: Never use this by any open flames, or a heat source.
Ventilation: Using this cleaner, even in its diluted state is still very strong. Use in wide open areas, and make sure you have proper ventilation.
